    Security/Grounds Person

    The shifts are 6pm – 9am 2 days a week and then 4 days off.

    Salary: £17,242 per annum.

    Hunters’ client requires a Premises Officer with confident IT skills including Excel spreadsheets to look after a very busy and vast site.  The Security role is an integral part of the business and finding the right person for the position is essential.

    The role

    The overall aim of the role is to help maintain and secure a safe and efficient operation providing security, site maintenance and assisting management.

    General purpose of the role

    A full time position for a flexible, energetic and enthusiastic team player whose role will be to provide security duties and maintenance assistance to the various departments & users.

    The role is diverse and you must use your own initiative adopting safe systems of work. You will work as part of a team working as the ground operations department.

    The primary role will be to provide a security presence onsite throughout non-operational hours. You will also be required to operate machinery and equipment of different types e.g. a tractor and strimmer to perform grass management duties during the summer, and building maintenance in the winter as required and tasked by the maintenance supervisor.

    Experience in operating mechanical equipment will be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.

    The applicant will need to be flexible and able to take instruction at short notice as the role covers multitasking in terms of the operation of the facility. Some additional hours may be required providing sickness cover for other team members and additional hours as requested by your line manager during special events.

    Essential skills and experience

    • Full UK driving licence
    • Equipment maintenance skills (preferred)
    • Time management; the ability to organise and manage multiple priorities
    • Computer literate, competent with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel for record keeping

    Hours or work: The normal working period will be from 18:00 to 09:00 = 15 hours per shift.

    The Shift pattern reverts to 122 shifts of evening / night working on a two on, four off roster system, plus holiday cover of 15 shifts.

    Contracted hours per year 2055 = 137 x 15 hour shifts per year = *40 hours per week. *some flexi time is available within the 40 hours per week.
