Accounts Assistant
Location: Burgess Hill
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm
Salary: Up to £30,000
Contract: Permanent

The Opportunity:
Our client, a highly regarded and award-winning independent business based in Burgess Hill, is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their thriving team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual with a background in bookkeeping or accountancy to progress their career and take ownership of a personal client portfolio, while working within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a personal portfolio of clients within the property sector
- Performing monthly and quarterly bank reconciliations
- Preparing and issuing service charge and ground rent invoices
- Assisting with the preparation of year-end accounts alongside external accountants
- Supporting Property Managers with budgeting, debtor management, and credit control
- Working both independently and collaboratively within the wider accounts team
Skills & Experience Required:
- Previous experience in an accounts or bookkeeping role
- AAT Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience
- Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Able to work under own initiative and manage individual workload
- Confident communicating with clients of all levels, both by phone and email
- A team player with a positive, proactive attitude
- Experience using a range of accounting software (desirable but not essential)
