Lead Housekeeper
Exclusive West Sussex Residence (9–5 or 10–6)
Work Pattern: 5 days a week with flexibility required to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis with time off given in lieu
Part time candidates able to work 2 or 3 days a week (and particularly over weekends) will also be considered.
Salary dependent on experience
Hunters’ client is seeking an experienced, discreet, and professional Lead Housekeeper to manage the day-to-day care of a prestigious private home in rural West Sussex. This is a permanent, full-time role offering stability, respect, and the chance to work within a warm but highly professional household.
The Role
- Maintain the home to an immaculate standard with exceptional attention to detail
- Carry out deep cleaning during periods when the principals are away
- Complete laundry management, pressing, and specialist care of luxury garments and linens
- Managing household inventories and stock levels
- Ordering cleaning supplies, household items, and ensuring timely replenishment
- Polishing and caring for silver, antiques, and fine furniture
- Assist with table setting, service and discreet clearing after meals
- Organise items for dry cleaning and manage household routines
- Flower arranging
Key Requirements
- Extensive housekeeping experience in private residences, luxury hospitality or on superyachts and a genuine passion for housekeeping
- Discreet, trustworthy, and highly professional
- Eye for detail, proactive, and organised
- Able to prioritise and multitask effectively
- Enhanced DBS (or willing to obtain)
- Driver with own transport (rural location)
