Production Assistant – electronics
Nr Horsham, West Sussex (own transport essential)
£28,000 + discretionary bonuses
Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:30am–5:15pm, Friday 8:30am–3:30pm (39.5 hours/week)
Hunters Recruitment is supporting one of our valued client in their search for a Production Assistant with confident IT skills to join their manufacturing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a busy, hands-on environment and enjoys working as part of a close-knit team.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring the timely and efficient assembly of products, supporting the Production Team with day-to-day operations including order processing, stock management, supplier liaison, and production planning.
Production Assistant – the job:
- Process quotes, orders, and works orders using the company’s ERP system (Kerridge K8).
- Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) and costings.
- Manage stock levels, monitor low stock reports, and liaise with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Support production scheduling and shop floor operations to meet delivery deadlines.
- Create and manage spreadsheets for outstanding orders and supplier deliveries.
- Work closely with Engineering, QA, and Assembly teams.
Production Assistant – Skills and Experience Required:
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
- Confident with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Accurate alpha-numeric data input and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Ability to work independently, manage a varied workload, and meet tight deadlines.
- Positive, flexible, and proactive attitude.
- Good telephone manner and willingness to learn new systems and processes.
