Hunters’ client, a well-established professional practice based in Worthing, is seeking an experienced accounts-focused professional for their accounting property management team.
This is a hands-on, office-based role within a small, collaborative team, offering variety, responsibility, and regular client interaction.
Property Finance – The Role
Working closely with surveyors, accountants, and Partners, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the office.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining and updating purchase ledgers, property account schedules, and service charge accounts
- Preparing regular service charge, expense, VAT, and statement reports for landlord clients
- Compiling service charge budgets and reconciliation documentation for review
- Issuing rent and service charge demand invoices
- Undertaking credit control duties, monitoring outstanding rents, charges, and cost balances
- Corresponding with landlords, tenants, and contractors as required
- Providing general accounts and administrative support using company systems
- Assisting with incoming calls and contributing to the smooth running of the office
- Carrying out additional reasonable duties in support of the wider team
Property Finance – About You
You will be organised, detail-oriented, and confident working within an accounts or finance function, ideally in a property or professional services environment.
You will have:
- Previous experience in an accounts, bookkeeping, or finance-related role
- Experience within property management, surveying, or professional services
- Good working knowledge of purchase ledgers and general accounting processes
- Familiarity with service charge accounts on Commercial Properties, VAT reporting, and reconciliation
- Experience preparing invoices, statements, and basic financial reports
- Confidence handling credit control and outstanding balances
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Competence using Microsoft Excel and Word
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
- A flexible, reliable approach and willingness to support wider office duties
Property Finance – Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience using ReLeased or similar property management software
- Understanding of commercial rent demands and service charge budgeting
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
